I grew up in a small country town located 40 or so miles west of Chicago. My childhood was filled with the
activities and images experienced while spending most of my time outdoors in the fields and woods that abound
in this area. My artwork reflects these experiences.
As I progressed through many educational exposures and a continuing stream of art work, I came to appreciate
the purity and simplicity of pen and ink drawing. This appreciation continued through many years of professional
book illustrating and fine art, culminating in two major events in my life. In 1982, I had a personal
retrospective show at The Art Institute of Chicago lasting three months which included 75 works of art. In the
area of book illustrating, a book, Travels of a Fox, published by Scott Foresman, won a prestigious National
illustration award in the Chicago Four Show.
I have continued to work, especially in the last 20 years, with Realtors, Developers, Home Builders, and
private home owners, to produce exceptionally fine, detailed drawings.
I was fortunate to have home drawings included in the 2004 and 2006 Chicago Luxury Home
Tour catalogs. This tour included multi-million homes located in St. Charles, Deerfield, Barrington, Lake Forest,
and Naperville.
I try to relate to the fact that a person's home is likely a prized material possession and, in keeping
with that knowledge I attempt to produce a highly aesthetic drawing. It is my goal to provide a drawing that will not only be beautiful now but also a keepsake for future generations.
